Welcome to Explorer Kids Dental

Meet our doctors and the heart behind Explorer Kids Dental

Explorer Kids Dental is led by Dr. Jeff McComb and Dr. Candy McComb, both of whom bring more than 18 years of experience to every child they care for. Dr. Jeff grew up in Merced, California and originally planned to become a biology professor before discovering a love for dentistry. He earned his dental degree from the University of the Pacific and now combines his passion for teaching with hands-on care. As a lifelong learner, he continually pursues advanced training and brings that knowledge into daily practice, helping families understand how habits, diet, and hygiene influence long-term oral health.

Dr. Candy McComb shares that same dedication to education, excellence, and compassionate care. As a lifelong learner and trusted kids dentist, she works closely with families to create treatment plans that are both thoughtful and individualized. Together, the McCombs built Explorer Kids Dental after years in children’s dental groups, determined to create something different. They wanted a practice where children are treated like family, where parents are taught, not rushed, and where modern dentistry is paired with genuine connection and trust.

For patients who require advanced sedation, we are grateful to work alongside Dr. Sam Seiden, an anesthesiologist with an extensive background in hospital-based care. Dr. Seiden has worked at Sutter Memorial and Kaiser in Sacramento and was previously on faculty at Lurie Children’s Hospital, where he focused on improving patient safety and reducing pain and anxiety in children. His presence allows us to offer an extra layer of confidence and comfort for families whose children need deeper levels of care.

A family-owned practice with a team that cares deeply

At Explorer Kids Dental, everything we do revolves around building relationships. Our team works hard to create an atmosphere that feels warm, safe, and welcoming from the moment you walk through the door. We are a family-owned, faith-driven practice that values compassion, honesty, and excellence in both patient care and team culture.

Our office was designed for kids to feel relaxed and at home. From ceiling-mounted TVs and Disney movies to a play area and our in-office tortoise, we believe small details can make a big difference. Parents often tell us how easy our office feels, and we take that as the highest compliment. We want every child to leave with a smile and every parent to leave with peace of mind.

Dentistry that is modern, gentle, and intentional

Explorer Kids Dental is built on a philosophy of conservative, minimally invasive care. We focus heavily on prevention and education, working closely with families to lower cavity risk through better habits and understanding. When treatment is needed, we use modern tools like the Solea laser to provide anesthesia-free fillings, gentle frenectomies, and precise care without drills or shots whenever possible.

We also offer silver diamine fluoride, Curodont, Hall crowns, and other approaches designed to preserve as much natural tooth structure as possible. Our goal is always to treat what needs to be treated and avoid what does not. By pairing advanced technology with a heart for teaching, we help children develop healthier smiles that last well into adulthood.

Care that feels personal because it is

If you are searching for a children's dental home that values your child as much as you do, we would love to welcome your family. At Explorer Kids Dental, children in Roseville, Rocklin, and surrounding communities receive care that is thoughtful, modern, and rooted in genuine connection.

Dr. Jeff McComb and Dr. Candy McComb, along with our dedicated team, are honored to care for your child. Call us today at (916) 269‑9777 to schedule a visit and experience the difference of a team that treats your child like their own.
